New Bra

I was on the lookout for a new bra that would give me the support I need and allow me to wear a backless dress. I had a body suit but due to the new dress having thin straps, the body suit just wouldn’t work, as it had thick straps. And obviously a strapless bra wouldn’t do as you can see the back (PS. I highly recommend WonderBra with Hand Technology).

I went on the prowl for a bra that would support me and that would be practically invisible and I found the Bye Bra Breast Lift Tape. It ticked all the boxes that I wanted;

  1. Was made to suit cup sizes
  2. It was practically invisible
  3. Would make my breasts look amazing
  4. Catered for skin types – light and dark

The Bye Bra breast lifts consist of a very thin and flexible self-adhesive foil, shaped like a horseshoe, which makes it is possible to re-position the nipples by up to several centimeters. Bye Bra offers a special 3M tape which is used as a medical tape in hospitals and therefore safe to use. Bye Bra not only lifts the breasts and creates symmetry; it also significantly increases the self-esteem and confidence of the wearer.

20160510_225507.jpgIt was very easy to apply and I felt quite confident in wearing no bra as such.  The tape comes up quite high so I would be weary that the garment that you would be wearing isn’t low cut or doesn’t drape over your chest as any movement the tape can become visible to others.

I will say that my confidence would be limited to going out to a restaurant and not a mad night out as even though my breasts stayed in place they weren’t firm like what you would get when wearing a bra. Maybe it is something you have to get used to?

It’s that time again – HOLIDAY TIME!

I love the summer as we get some sunny days in Ireland but most importantly we get to go away and see new places.

Pending on what kind of holiday you are going on; if it’s staying in Ireland, City Breaks or full on relaxing holiday you need to pack appropriately. I think it is key to know your location when packing.

So if staying in Ireland I think you can wear all your summer clothes that you have in that wardrobe of yours but to cope with our ever changing weather you definitely need a rainmack. If you are going to brave the elements by wearing shorts – wear them with tights.

City Breaks are amazing, as you get to see a wonderful city/town, enjoy the food and soak up some atmosphere. Once again this will all depend on where you are going but having the basics are key. Comfortable flats are a must – if these are pumps, sandals or runners, whatever makes your heels feel like they are walking on air.

Full on Sunny Holiday – so it’s going to be warm. Let’s be honest it comes down to the bikini/takini or swimsuit (whatever floats your boat) and this is so personal in what you want to wear. There is a great selection out there. If you are cursed/blessed with a busty asset then I suggest you pay the extra for swimwear that will give you the support for those bad boys. The next important key thing you need to have is Sun Protection. I don’t know about you but I don’t want wrinkle-y sun damaged body when I get older. So it’s all about the protection; this just doesn’t include SPF, you also need a hat for that lovely head of yours and sunglasses (should have UVA/UVB protection).

Summer 2016 trends – Explained!

Summer 2016 trends are in and I don’t know about you but some of these I wouldn’t touch with a barge pole. We have Stripes, Monochrome, Nautical, The 90’s, Utility, Samurai and Prairie Girl. What is different from last year I hear you say – Nothing!

Isn’t this great? You can replenish your summer wardrobe, if you bought these trends last year. Ok they may have been called something else but this is a breakdown of this year’s summer style.

Stripes

So when I looked through my wardrobe, I was surprised to see that I only had one thing that had strips on it! My lovely blue pin stripe blazer jacket – right on trend and goes well with block colours or if you are brave you could wear multiple stripes.

Monochrome

We all have something that is either black or white in our wardrobe. The Monochrome look doesn’t mean it has to contain black and white on the same piece of clothing. So I think we are all covered with this look.

Nautical

Now I would hope that with us Irish girls mostly being pale (practically blue) we would all have a bit of navy in the wardrobe. I love wearing navy, as I find that black sometimes washes me out! This being said if you don’t own navy, we all have a pair of jeans lying around. We all don’t need the sailor hats to finish this look, but if you even had a wicker bag or a pair of corked wedges, this will finish the look.

The 90’s

So if you grow up in the 90’s and kept some of your clothes (the little hoarder inside you) you now would be hitting the 90’s look vintage style. If like me don’t have any clothes from the 90’s but did buy some Mom Jeans last year (or was it the year before???), here are some of the key pieces you need to follow this trend;

  • Bomber Jacket
  • T-Shirt with slogan writing
  • Mom Jeans
  • Bulky heeled shoes

Utility

So this is easy, you need either clothes that are kaki in colour or a parka jacket. Sorted!

Samurai

So if you have been into going to festival’s or just loved the easy look of throwing on a Kimono. This look is about structure, wraps and obviously any print with some blossom tree blossoms & branches will be right on trend.

Prairie Girl

This look to me screams ‘cheese cloth’ and to my relief I don’t own any. Not because it doesn’t look or wear well but because I would have to iron it! I hate ironing. So instead to do this trend I wear lace type clothing; a lace waist coat, top to a hair band. To make this look more sheak I would wear something off the shoulder.

Or maybe you need an excuse to go and get something new, so pretend you have nothing to wear! But isn’t that always the case! To help you make some decisions, here are some looks/ideas;

Let’s go to the Races

Hitting that time of year again – ‘The Races’. If you are heading to down to Punchestown this month, preparation is key. The Punchestown Irish National Hunt Festival (running from 26th April – 30th April) is one of the highlights of the Irish sporting and social calendar. The special combination of thrilling sporting action, brilliant live entertainment, delicious food and drink, family fun, dazzling glamour or casual comfort is unequaled thanks to the unique Punchestown Festival atmosphere.

Choosing your outfit can be one of the hardest things, as you want to look to amazing, feel amazing (comfortable) and just be AMAZING. Here are some ideas of what you could wear;

Once you choose what you are going to wear then it comes down to the shoes. I’m sorry girls but for me it is down to the comfort as surviving the day is what I want to aim for. I don’t want to be walking around like a dinosaur. However, I do want good looking shoes too! Too much to ask for?

Here are a few ideas;

Then the few key accessories to complete the whole outfit; if this should be a hat/fascinator, bag, parasol/umbrella, necklace/watch or even a coat. Here are a few more ideas;

I know I am really looking forward to going!

Lack of Domestic Skills

I don’t know about you but when it even comes to sewing a button back on to a jacket or cardigan I’m hopeless. So when it came to my lovely winter parka xip breaking I was devastated knowing finding a similar jacket would be so difficult.

I was recommended to go to my local ‘The Zip Yard‘ in Newbridge. I brought my coat in, I was greeted by the lovely ladies who were so helpful and reaffirmed that replacing the zip would be no hassle at that they would move the pleather parts of the broken zip to the new one.

When I collected my coat I was so happy with the results and it couldn’t come at a better time as the weather is so cold and wet at the moment.
image

By having the zip replaced I saved so much money than heading out to the shops and splashing the cash out on a new coat.

Thanks Zip Yard.

Have you had a similar experience? Have you ever thought of getting your damaged clothes repaired instead of replacing them?
