We nornally celebrate New Years by going into Dublin for the New Year Eve’s Concert, which is normally outside  Trinity College. This year it will held in the 3 arena. Where the concert will featur;

New Year…… New Resolutions

It’s that time of a year again,  where the clocks start again and we are able to invite a new me (you) to the world.

The meaning of a new year can be defined as ‘the beginning of the year that is about to begin our had just begun’. Not very philosophical but factual. So are are new years resolutions supposed to be factual. Are we supposed to succeed what targets we set for ourselves?

1. See a new country
2. Plan an amazing Hen for my BFF & watch her get married
3. Take time to Relax
4. Go up in a hot air balloon or helicopter
5. Grow my nails, hair & eyebrows  (more)
6. Plan our wedding (don’t worry he knows)

The Grooming Experience

I have been growing my brows and I just had to go get them groomed, as I suppose it was coming up to Christmas and looking groomed is such a better look, then looking like a crazy eyebrow lady.

Julie in Harmonie Beauty Room tidied my eyebrows. She took the length off and plucked my eyebrows to a point not to affect the new hairs growing but still giving me a groomed affect. The more hair that grows the better shape Julie will be able to create and my brows will still look full, which is what I want.

Here is the tidy up results;

I am so pleased with my look and results. You can see they have grown so much. Here is to another month of growth!

Finding my Christmas Lip Colour

Choosing a colour no matter what it is for can be so very difficult. I am not one to make decisions easily and need alot of information to conclude that this is the right decision to make.

I decided to choose a couple of colours that I love to help me choose what one will be my Christmas Lip Colour. I find no more what type of lipstick, I wear by applying lip liner all over my lips, the lipstick stays on better.

Wearing Maybeline Super Stay 24 Hour in the colour ‘560 Red Alert’ and No7 Precision Lip Liner in colour ‘No4’. Top Picture is without the balm over the lipstick giving a lovely mate colour.

Enjoying Dublin’s Christmas Atmosphere

I am a firm believer that children make Christmas. Seen that I don’t have any, I try to be the biggest child ever (it’s a competition between my other half and I). We both absolutely love Christmas and to soak up some more of the Christmas-y spirit we decided to go in to Dublin and have a look at around and if we were staying late get to see the Christmas lights.

We went in early and the ques to park in the Jervis centre had already started, we decided to go for the Ilac centre and we qued for about 20 minutes to get into the parking lot. Went straight up to the 4th floor where there it was only half full as the other levels were completely full.

As we walked around for the first hour we were admiring the Christmas decorations and the Christmas windows (really liked Arnotts). The stalls were still being set-up so the full buzz wasn’t in full swing at this stage.

As time moved on you could see everyone was buying and in some sort of a panic. It was hard to weave in between the crowds and I think if we had stayed any longer it would only get worse.

Bought a few final bits but still no star or angel for the top of our tree, maybe next year?

Star Wars – The Force Awakens

Firstly don’t worry this is not a post that is going to ruin the movie on you,  I won’t be spilling the beans on the plot. However, I will say is that the movie is a must see. You won’t be disappointed.

I went to see the latest Star Wars movie in the Cineplex to watch on the IMAX screen. When we arrived there were no ques which wasn’t surprising as it was still early in the morning. I never watched a movie on a IMAX screen so couldn’t wait to see what the difference was.

The next big decision after collecting tickets was to decide what treats to eat. I always need popcorn when I am at the cinema, so I had this for my breakfast. Delicious!

Dublin has gone Star Wars crazy, with one part of Arnotts window Star Wars theme, the spire dressed up as a lightsaber.

My only disappointment was that I didn’t get to see the Dublin Spire (aka needle) in all it’s lightsaber glory as it was quite early in the morning and you need darkness.

Leinster at Aviva

My other half and I are season ticket holders for Leinster Rugby, we love dressing up for the Irish elements and having our treats at half time. I have a skinny hot chocolate and he gets a white chocolate latte.

The last weekend before Christmas Leinster played RC Toulon in the ‘European Rugby Champions Cup’ and being the first time the two sides met on Irish Soil, I was hoping for a good game (yes I know we are in the middle of a losing streak but there is always hope). We are three-time European champions and if we didn’t beat RC Toulon we wouldn’t be qualifying for the quarter-finals. And we have never lost back to back home games in the same season of a Champions Cup campaign (enough hope built up – Check).

Kick off was at 5:15pm and my screaming began. I screamed (and sang the leinster rhymes) till the very end even when we lost. I was hoping for more than a win, I wanted 4 try’s (we got one) so we could get the bonus points. At the start of the game I refocused our team we were organised and playing how Leinster play and then it we went downhill from there.

Final score was 16 – 20 to RC Toulon, they deserved it. No matter what it was a good game, good atmosphere and full of Christmas Cheer.

Getting the Brows to Grow (Part 1)

If you too had the freedom in the 90’s to pluck your eyebrows to a inch off their life – then this post is for you.

I always loved my eyebrows, the shape and then all of a sudden it was mod to have your eyebrows full, healthy and not over plucked. So as any normal girl does she lets them grow in a groomed fashion. So I can’t say I ever stopped plucking but I did slow down on the plucking. I looked up so many pinterest posts to find out how to get the perfect symmetrical eyebrows for my face.

Sadly my eyebrows still wouldn’t obey me and grew back in patches and in some spots nothing at all would grow. I started to research what I could do to help, however I spoke to love the Julie in the ‘Harmonie Beauty Room‘ and she told me to try the HD brows Lash & Brow Booster.

Does whitening toothpaste actually work?

I find myself wanting a perfect white smile. I look after my teeth,  I had train tracks as a teenager and I religiously wear my retainer at night to ensure their is no movement.  I try to get to the dentist at least twice a year for a check-up and a good aul clean.

Being a red wine consumer and a tea drinker (all of which are teeth stainers) I find that I have to be extra vigilant with my teeth. So I normally put a regular toothpaste that offers the whitening extra label.

Lately this hasn’t been enough and started to try Pearl Drops.

When I put my teeth up to the white identifier that is provided with Pearl Drops. I was happily surprised that my teeth was being ranked at number 9.

When you read the instructions on the packet it states that you are to expect takes in 2 weeks which I think is a realistic time frame.

So two weeks have come and looking at the results I am surprised that I am now only at number 8. So I decided to continue using the toothpaste to see if there was any more progress.

Seen my teeth didn’t get dramatically whiter I started to think about how your teeth are stained so easily and wondered has Pearl Drops kept the stains from getting worse whole bringing them down to a better shade of white?
