A bit of D.I.Y

D.I.Y Goddess is some what hard to achieve,  but all you have to do is start with baby steps.

I’m quite addicted to Pinterest and when I came across this idea I just had to try it out.
image

I contacted Wall Art – Ireland to see if they would be able to provide such a printout fir me as I thought to myself doing a stencil would be alt more time consuming and possibly a little more difficult. They were more than accomadating, from the picturethat i sent they got an idea ofwhat I wanted. I was in their hands and they knew what I wanted, so I placed my order (delivery included). When my parcel arrived and I opened to find exactly what I wanted.

So off to Woodies I went and picked myself some Woodstain, a paint brush and sandpaper (in the shape of a square sponge – which was very handy indeed).

I sanded the kitchen table down first and three coats later of Woodstain my idea started to come alive.
image

I delicately placed the sticker onto the table bit by bit.  I used a sponge to apply the sticker by rubbing up and down the sticker slowly and carefully.

Here are the final results:-

So delighted with the finishing touches.

Thank you again Wall Art – Ireland . I highly recommend using this service, always get what I need.

Baking Healthy Scones

Scones with jam & cream is one of my favourites. So minus the cream, I thought I’d try out a healthy option of scones.

I found a few recipes such as ‘The Lemonade Scones’, ‘Porridge Scones’, ‘Brown Scones’ but some were extreme with having no flour or some with wholemeal and normal flour.

Here is my take on Healthy Scones.

The things you need:
•300g Wholemeal Self Raising flour
•60g Porridge
•2 Eggs
•165ml Fromage Frais
•1 tbsp cinnamon
•1 tbsp sweetner
•1 tbsp honey
•1 tbsp milk (or semi – skimmed milk)
•1 tsp Salt
• 30g cranberries or blueberries (optional)
•Fry light

The how:
•Preheat oven to 200°C
•Mix all dry ingredients together
•Beat 1 egg, add milk & add to dry mixture
•Add honey, mix well
•Add blueberries or cranberries (this is optional)
•Prep baking tin by spraying some fry light and tap some flour around the tin (this will allow no scones to stick to baking tin)
•Put some flour down on your clean kitchen counter and put your shine mixture on top
•hand roll mixture out to approx. 1cm thick
•Use a glass to cut the size of your scones out
•Place on baking tray
•Beat another egg and glaze over the top of your scones (can sprinkle some sweetner on top)
•Cook scones for 15 mins at 200°C and then reduce to 160°C for 10 mins
•Remove from oven and place on cooling rack

Serve hot or cold with your drink of choice. For me it will always be a cup of tea. Enjoy!

Getting the Semi’s on

I decided for a function that I would go all out and get Semi permanent mink eyelashes on.

I decided to go and get them done in Aphrodite Beauty Clinic in Clane. It is so easy to book an appointment, checkout their Facebook page.

I was so excited and a little nervous in getting them done as it is a treatment that out so close to your eyes. My therapist was Emma. She went through what she would be doing and how to treat them and to take off mascara at the end of the day.

Two hours later I emerged with fabulously full semi – permanent mink eyelashes.

New way to eat your Porridge

I love having Porridge in the morning.  It’s low on the G.I. (aka. it’s a slow burner) – keeps me going for longer.

But like most things you can get bored with it.  I have tried soaking the oats before with milk and I won’t lie I hated it!  But thought I would give this new receipe a go.

The things you need:
•Porridge Oats
•Seeds (optional)
•Cinnamon powder
•Almond & Coconut milk
•Berries

The how:
•Pour your daily allowance of oats into a bowl
•You can add seeds at this point if you want (I didn’t as didn’t want to waste them in case I didn’t like it)
•Sprinkle some cinnamon
•Mix together
•Pour the Almond & Coconut milk to the where the oat line is
•Add the berries to the top, I used blueberries & Rasberry especially
•Push the berries down into the mixture
•Sprinkle some cinnamon on top (optional)

Leave overnight in the fridge. In the morning take it out and enjoy.

You will see that that oats have soaked most of the milk in,  I gave mine a little stir to mix the cinnamon on top.

Another healthy breakfast.

Getting all Dolled Up

I love a bit of pampering and this time I decided to go all out and have my makeup and hair done for the function that I was attending.

Makeup
image

I absolutely love a soft smokey eye look and a strong lip colour.

I was so impressed that the foundation colour just blended in so well. Julie used Inglot HD foundation in No.71.

Hair
image
Because of the style of dress I was going to be wearing I wanted my hair up and off my face. As my hair is so curly it was pinned loosely at the back in two parts, sleek and tight at the sides and left with height at the top of my head. As much as I shook my head nothing moved out of place. Thanks Morgan Richards Hair & Beauty Salon for such an amazing job.

Thanks Julie again for such an amazing look and best wishes with the new move. Harmonie Beauty Room will do amazing in your new location in Naas.
